Have you ever had a day at work where you’re just getting bombed with negativity from the customers you’re working with, team members or even your boss?

Or maybe your partner/spouse, kids or someone you don’t even know is giving you an attitude.

You end up feeling deflated, down and even overwhelmed and it isn’t even 11 AM yet!

You don’t always have control over other people’s actions , but you can protect your energy and stay uplifted, positive and in a clear headspace.

How can you create a bubble of peace for yourself so that outside influences are not able to drain your energy so easily?

In this week’s blog, you’ll learn how to protect your energy so that you don’t end up taking on other people’s negativity.

4 Simple Tips to Protect Your Energy

0-01

Take your environment from Ugggg to Ahhhh

Often massive changes to our environment are not possible but small, simple changes can go a long way when the focus is to help your mind get out of the ugggg of it all.

Go for a walk during breaks to change the scenery around you.

Hang pictures of things that make you feel good on your office wall. Flowers, birds, trees, the ocean, anything that you find peaceful or fascinating.

Changing the visuals around you starts to change how you see your environment.

Routine Switch Up

Your daily routine becomes just that, routine. You can start to fall into some of those feelings because you’ve become accustomed to that feeling just based on the routine.

Eat lunch at a different restaurant, order a salad instead of fries, or even take a different route to work in the morning.

Working from home? Instead of heading right into your home office, take some time for yourself first thing in the morning and focus just on you and the positives of you.

Changing your routine changes your outlook on things.

Trigger Time

Using the example of customer service, the phone ringing would garner an expectation that you are about to have a negative experience. Regardless of what the caller is actually calling about, you start to dedicate a level of energy before picking up the phone.

When that phone rings, take a moment to say an affirmation of positivity or look at one of those images on your office wall that makes you happy.

That moment you take brings you back to your bubble of positivity and helps to lower the impact on your energy throughout the day.

Meditation

A five minute meditation, which I have included below, first thing when you get up or right before you leave for work can help bring your mind into that bubble of peace we want to create.

Spend a few minutes getting into the mindset meant for protecting your energy and if need be, you can listen to it more than once through the day.

Protecting your energy is something that takes some change in your behavior but once you start to see how your efforts have a positive effect on your daily life, you’ll find your overall outlook will shift as well.

Questions to journal on:

How will you bring positivity into your atmosphere and environment?

What things could you do to help protect your energy?

What does your bubble of peace look like?

Now, I’d love to hear from you. What’s an insight or a-ha moment that you took from this week’s blog.
