How are your New Year’s goals coming? Are you sticking to them or have you been derailed?
At the start of 2022, I said “NO” to big lofty goals that put more stress and pressure on me, especially around food.
Instead, I decided to focus on small tiny habits. One of those habits is starting each day with a simple immune boosting smoothie.
Maybe your goal was to go gluten free, start an elimination diet, stop eating junk food, or add a variety of vegetables to your plate…
If you set New Year’s goals around food, but already feel deflated, frustrated and like you’ve failed, this episode of ETV is for you.
I’m sharing 3 simple questions (and an amazing recipe) to help make your food habits stick so you can start feeling energized and empowered!
Here’s a quick pic of my daily Green Immune Boosting Smoothie and the recipe is below!
Low and behold, this small habit has become part of my daily routine. Keep reading to see how and I’ve been able to make this small food shift stick and you can too when you apply these simple guidelines and three questions.
1. It’s easy: we have all the ingredients in the house to make it and a great blender.
I’ve got the blender. Check. Ingredients. Check. Recipe. Check. I know how to use the blender. Check.
2. It’s something small that takes less than 5 minutes to make in the morning
When the smoothie ingredients are prepped and ready to throw in the blender, this smoothie literally takes 30-40 seconds to whip up. That’s what I call fast food!
3. It’s attainable, tastes good and provides substantial energy (win, win, win!)
If this is true for you, – I have the perfect remedy for you. Next time you want to make a food shift… make it small, easy and attainable.
You can ask yourself these questions…
- Is this easy? Or how can I make this goal super easy?
- Is it small enough or does it take between 30 second and 5 min to achieve?
- Can I attain it?
If you’ve answered yes to all three… then by all means – keep going with your goals.
If you answered no to any of the questions, ask yourself how you can make it easier, take less time or how it can be made more attainable.
Keep breaking it down into smaller pieces until it’s comfortable, easy and attainable for you!
