Apple Cinnamon Fruit Leather

Fruit leather lovers celebrate! This simply fresh fruit leather is full of fabulous fiber and beats its’ store bought counterpart laden with sugar and chemicals.

Ingredients

4 cups red apple, peeled, seeds removed and diced

½ cup water

1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

1Dice apples and place in a medium saucepan over low heat.

2Add water and cover. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.

3Pour the cooked apples into a blender and puree until smooth.

4Return the apples to the saute pan.

5Add the lemon juice and cinnamon.

6Continue to cook over medium-low heat for an additional 10 minutes.

7Spoon the mixture onto dehydrator trays.

8Dehydrate at 135°F for 10 to 12 hours until the leather texture is achieved and when it peels off the trays easily.

9You can also make these in the over.

10Preheat your oven to the lowest temperature.

11Cook for 7 to 12 hours, depending on the temperature of the oven.

12To serve, cut the fruit leather into evenly shaped rectangles and roll them up to make fruit rolls.
